Introduction to the Liturgy of the Word

The road on which we walk is one of dramatic change.

Isaiah preaches about darkness and distress being re-

placed by light and rejoicing. Paul encourages his di-

vided audience to unite in the name of Jesus. In Mat-

thew, Jesus calls the first apostles and they leave their

way of life and follow him. As we listen to today’s

readings, notice how people are changed by the Light

of the world.

Introducción a la Liturgia de la Palabra

La senda por la que caminamos nos presenta cambios

dramáticos. Isaías predica que las tinieblas y angustias

serán remplazadas por la luz y la alegría. Pablo anima

a su audiencia dividida a unirse en nombre de Jesús.

En el Evangelio de Mateo, Jesús llama a los primeros

discípulos y ellos dejan su modo de vida presente para

seguirlo. Al escuchar las lecturas de hoy fijémonos

cómo las personas cambian por la Luz del mundo.

FAITH FORMATION CLASSES

Faith Formation Classes are held at the

school building located at 86-37 53rd Avenue,

on Sundays from 8:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.,

from September through May.

A new registration must be completed for all present stu-

dents as well as new students to attend our program. Parents

must bring the following documents when registering:

- Baptism Certificate

- Birth Certificate, if child is not baptized

- A Parish Transfer letter is required if child attended

another parish

interested in volunteering for the Faith Formation Program,
