OLMC Parish Financial Situation

Last week, we presented the financial situation of our Parish. The operating account shows an important deficit: $128,502.

Our operating expenses are $397,945 per year, which is an average of $7,650 per week. As of today, our Mass collections bring only an average of $3,100 per week. We need the help of all parishioners! The main source of income is the Mass collections we receive during the Masses on every weekend. The first collection is always for the general needs of the Parish, and the second collection is either for a specific need of the Parish (as noted on the envelope, for example “electrical bills”) or for an outside need (for example “the Catholic Uni-versity of America” or “the Church in the Middle-East coun-tries”). Therefore, if every parishioner could give just a little more in the collection basket, it will bring the total up and help make a big difference to better cover our expenses. How much should one give? Everyone should see what his or her weekly income is, and then see what part of it can be given. God blesses us with so many gifts and we cannot be ungrateful or “stingy” with Him! Let’s listen to St. Paul in his letter to the Corinthians: “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Co 9:7) God wants us to be cheerful! He cares for us more than we can ever imagine. And He is the one who recompenses us when we give with joy.

Thank you so much! May God reward you abundantly for your generosity!

RECESO DEL DÍA DE ACCIÓN DE GRACIAS 2019

¡NO CLASES!
